Does that feathering tool work good? I’m new at elements, so thats why i ask.

You might try selecting with a tool using feathering to make the edges softer.
It’s hard to tell really, it all depends on the subject and the new background.
Another idea is to take a look at the thread on complicated selections. Something similar (I think) to what you’re looking for went on there.
