PS CS error message: Profile seems to be defective

I’m running Photoshop CS and until now everything has been fine. For no reason that I can figure PS now gives me an error message on startup that my monitor profile is defective and that I should run it again. I am using Optical from Color Vision. I have run the profiling software several more times but still get the same error message.

As recently as last week I was using an Optical profile and PS ran fine.

Any suggestions?

instead of recreating (overwriting) it, try actually deleting the "defective" profile from windows explorer, then creating a new one.

Hi Dave,

The profile program did not over write the old one. It generated a new one with a new file name. I did indeed delete the older profile–from W2K’s folder where the ICC’s reside.
