I use the clone stamp to paint over the red.
But I’m a Photoshop amateur.

well..there are many ways to go about this.
you can select the area and then use some of the color balance and correction tools…or apply a color overlay and adjust is opacity….

i can think of many ways. I just cant see PAYING for a plug in to do this relatively basic task. if you have PS..(whatever version) it is really a good idea to LEARN it. dont have to learn everything in the program (im still learning after using it professionaly for 6 years).

I find "cut -n-paste" is preferable to custom painting each and every eye.

I have an "EYE BANK" page of great perfect eyes, stolen from every good photo which crosses anywhere near my workstation. If the eyes on any photo are clear and 20/20, I steal ’em.

Then I graft ’em right onto every red eye in town. Heck, sometimes I I think I should start a NOSE bank too, to combat the plague of RED NOSE which I encounter every winter in photography.

Select the eye (the red area) with your marquee tool. Switch to the Channels palette. Click on the Green to highlight that layer. Copy the Green & paste to the Red layer. Select the RGB layer. Switch back to the Layers palette. Deselect the marquee.
