Insightful answer, T_D…

Yes, you need to add a blank layer, add the layer styles, then paint away…

You can even paint with filters! see < http://photoshoptechniques.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&t hreadid=64>

(or you could use Greg’s method wih styles)

T_DO answered exactly what was asked.

It was the question that lacked direction.

Phosphor, indeed, it was exactly what was asked, but one does not need to be a genius to understand the implied sub-question…
It was not the kindest move to do that.

It is such repetitive behaviours that make the atmosphere of this forum degenerate…

Compare the gentle tone of Robert’s question with the arrogant one of some users that command the others to do their homework…

Well, let’s say that I don’t have humour, or at least that I don’t like to laught at someone’s expense… 😉

I thought letting Robert know is was possible may give him the incentive to try and work out how to do it for himself, if some one is using Ps 7 and they dont know about layers, its time to do some playing , then perhaps he might learn a few other things on the way.
