Levels and Curves Adjustment Issues - Histogram and Curve Grid are all black

System: Windows ME and PS 6.0.1

I finally learned how to adjust colors using the manual level and curve adjustment tools at work. So, I go home to work on some photos and both my levels and curves dialog boxes have completely black backgrounds. I can't tell where the histogram starts or stops and I can't pick anchor points in the curves dialog box because the entire grid is blacked out.

Please help! I've included a hyperlink with this message so you can see a screenshot of what I am looking at...

Have you tried trashing your preferences?

That looks like a problem with your videocard drivers.

Usually just that not running in 24 or 32 bit color depth.

If you look at yesterdays forum you will see that I had a similar problem. It was suggested to me that I bump my computer acceleration down a notch. That didn't work but while doing that I discovered that my display properties had changed to 16 bit instead of 32. I changed it back to 32bit and what do you know? It worked... Try going into (1) Control Panel (2)Display (3)Settings (4)Colors -True Color 32Bit

This is almost always the case if it worked previously, if no video adaptor hardware changes were made. Can be due to a different or corrupted software driver, but usually not.

You can also just right click on blank part of
desktop/properties/settings to get to Display options with Win 9x/2k/xp.
