I’m new to Photoshop (7.0) and I’m drawing a map….any text that I use seems to come out very pixelated and looks poor. What am I doing wrong?

Your ‘map’ canvas is too small (low resolution).

Text needs a minimum of 10 pixels in height to -begin- to look fair, 20 to look smooth. AFTER you’ve done your map and legends, THEN you could size down AFTER rendering your type layers. This would then ‘soften the edges a bit (depending upon how much smaller you make it) and end up with a good looking drawing.

You should be using Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand or Serif DrawPlus or Denba’s Canvas or …

In other words, maps are much better done in a VECTOR drawing program.

You can still do some pretty good maps using PS, especially if the major parts are originally in PS.
