I have tried making collages in Photoshop but not with much success. Has anybody got a favourite program they use for this purpose? (preferably freeware etc).

Collages are tricky. Some hints: use different blend modes, different opactities, add gradients, use feathered selections with uneeded parts deleted, use masks. Decide on a focus.

use photoshop!!! buy some books or look at some on-line tut’s…..i cant think of a better program for this…..

try using layer masks with a gradient overlay to change the opacity.
