I am hoping this is a common problem.
Any solution or workaround would be appreciated.

I am trying to resize several hundred PCXs at a uniform 55 percent using Photoshop 7.01.

Simply changing the value of the Document Size width to 55% produces the desired result. I also uncheck the ‘resample image’ option. Resizing with the resample option seriously degrades their quality.

Here’s the problem:
When I try to capture this change in an action with the settings described above, it defaults to 100 percent. I have searched for a workaround or for posts that describe the same problem to no avail.

Any suggestions?

With Re-sample off, note what the Resolution changes to when you adjust the Width to 55%. It will be higher. Almost double. Use this Resolution parameter in your action instead of the width. This will do it. Assuming this is what you really want to do.

Are you making smaller prints at a higher resolution? If not, you will have to Resample to actually reduce the file size. The above method does not do this.

Worked perfectly-Thanks!
Yes, I’m trying to reduce the graphic size and increase the resolution. Its one of those solutions that stares you in the face but you don’t realize its there.
Thanks again
