Hi there.
I convert my images to grayscale using a plug-in or channel mixer rather than desaturating.
After I’ve finished, I like to convert and save to grayscale as the space saved can sometimes be considerable.
The problem is, when I open the file in my picture viewing program, either Irfan View or Thumbs Plus, the grayscale version looks different to the one saved as RGB.
When I open them both in Photoshop, they look the same again. Is this just a viewing issue with my picture viewing program, or should I change my color settings in Photoshop. At present I have gray and spot as 20% dot gain.
Thanks,
Mark
