Hi, I just tried to open a NEF file from a D200 with my CS2 and got the message that the request could nt be completed as it was not the righttype of document. Please help.

Have you got a recent version of camera raw? I have 3.3 and it opens my NEF files.

I believe there is a 3.4 available now but you should not need it.

Thanks for the help with this. I got the Nikon software working and now it works wirh CS2 so no need to buy camera raw. I must say, I think it should be a free upgrade not a pay for extra though.

If you read the page carefully, you will see that you do not need to pay for Camera Raw; it is built in to Photoshop CS2. If you click on the "buy now" link, it takes you to the page where you can buy CS2, not where you can buy Camera Raw.

If you already have CS2, you already have Adobe’s camera raw plugin.

Because new models of digital cameras are coming out all the time, and because different models of camera use a different raw format, you should go to Adobe’s Web site every so often and download the camera raw plugin. Adobe modifies the camera raw plugin from time to time to add support for new cameras.

Hi Gary,

You need to download the latest camera raw plugin for CS2. Support for the D200 was added in V3.4 I think. It’s free.

Thanks Tacit, will do that. Am used to speaking other languages than English and over time I have become difficult to understand even in my native tongue.
