Question re: HP 7960 printer color mismatch.

New to Photoshop CS. My Lacie IV monitor is calibrated but what I print out on my HP 7960 does not match what I see on my monitor. I can’t find a solution in the manuals or after experimentation. Advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Take a look at < http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps7_print/ps7_print_mac.htm> . The driver settings are for the very flexible Epson driver, but you may learn something useful , at least philosophically . <G>

Use Print Preview for printing, and set the HP driver to the best quality for your paper. Try "Printer Color Management" in the Output Space Profile in Print Preview, and see if you get better results.

The HP driver is not the most flexible around, but I think this should be decent. At least the settings work on my wife’s HP 1215 .

(although I am in France!), I am encountering the same or very similar problem as you.

I did all sorts of experiments but the only way to get fine prints for me is to use Iphoto and not use any of the advanced options of the HP driver. In such a case, the prints ( on hp premium plus photo paper) are fine and very close to what I see on my monitor. So, it seems it is not a monitor calibration problem.

But I have been unabble to get any correct print at all from Photoshop 7+ or CS despite my very numerous experiments with all possible printing options . A friend of mine here having an HP 7960 too is facing the same issue problem too !

I am waisting time, nerves, ink and paper nd am a bit desperate I can use Photoshop to get my prints.

On your side, have you found any solution? I would be very happy to hear from you about this. Thanks
