This is weird and it only started happening recently: Let’s say I select a portion of an image using the marquee tool. When I try to deselect a portion of the selected area, Photoshop freezes up on me for about 5 to 10 minutes. The Task Manager says Photoshop is still running and I can use all of the other apps I have open (It’s frozen as I write this message). It’s just like Photoshop is taking a moment to rest or something.

Anybody else experience this problem? I tried updating to 7.0.1, but that didn’t seem to help at all.

I always seem to remember NOT to do it at the same time I try to deselect an area. Frustrating…

Thanks!

Jim

Jim,

I’ve used PS 7 on win98se and occassionally, it appears that my shortcuts for some, but not all functions stop working – Ctrl-D is one of them. I find that exiting photoshop and rebooting clears the issue. That’s about all I could offer.

Peace,
Tony
