GREETINGS:
I have Photoshop 6.0.1 on a Windows ME system that has been glitchy ever since originally installed. Main problem:
When attempting to move a selection [using marquee or magic wand] I get a program error that locks my computer. Photoshop seems to be functioning OK except for the inability to move a selection. Any ideas???

Thanks for anybody who can help!!!

I suspect your problem is with Win ME, which was always glitchy. It might be a screen drive hickup or something else. I suggest going to almost any other version of Windows and reinstalling.

But first, reset your preferences per the procedure in the faq. If that doesn’t help then as a diagnostic, go to control panel, open the system applet and turn Video Hardware acceleration to OFF. If the problem goes away, then it’s video drivers. You either need to update or roll them back one version.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP, FELLAS!!! YOUR SUGGESTIONS WERE APPRECIATED!!

IT TURNED OUT THAT THE "HP4" PRINTER DRIVER WAS THE CULPRIT. I CHANGED TO A COLOR OFFICE JET AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR. THANKS AGAIN
