I have a pencil line drawing that I have scanned in and I basically want to convert it into smooth solid black lines.

Can somebody give me a quick rundown on the simplest way to achieve this?

Thankyou,

Russell.

Don’t know if this is any help, but recently I scanned in a line drawing and it was quite ‘faded’ looking so I just duplicated the background into a new layer and used the multiply blend mode, flattened the image, repeated and it brought up the image quite nicely

The easiest way is to scan it into Corel Trace which will make vectors out of all the lines. Then go from there. Pencil drawings are much better as vector art. You can always export them as jpgs/gifs later.

I have had great results using the burn tool for this.
