Photoshop CS2 deletes GPS info

Im a writing some image information, like the image description, artist, copyright and also the GPS position where the photo was taken, into the DNG file. However, when I then use Photoshop CS2 (Windows XP SP2) to convert the DNG file to TIFF, the entire GPS directory gets deleted, the format of the image description sometimes gets changed from UNICODE to ASCII, and the IPTC tag gets modified. While the latter two changes are not a big deal, the deletion of the GPS directory is really annoying. Is there a way to convince Photoshop to retain the GPS directory? If the GPS position was moved to the XMP tag, this would not matter, but it is not…
