I have an image on a cd that was given to me. The image is a photoshop image, and when I try to open it I get this error message: could not open imageD:\mother.psd because a color from an uninstalled color table was used.

I have no idea what version of Photoshop was used to create this image. I am using Elements 2.0 with Windows ME.

any ideas?

No idea, but if using windows, try the free Irfanview.
irfanview.com

Assuming the file isn’t actually corrupted somehow and this is just a generic error message, I’m guessing it was made in some other program than Photoshop.

PE2 should certainly open any .psd made from Photoshop 7 backward.
