Can plugins with ".8bf" tag be used in PSE2? Do I have to do anything special?

Yes and maybe. Some require installation just like any program and some can just be put into your plugin folder.

I did some more research and discovered that 8bf plugins will not work with Mac OS X, anyway, which is what I use. Maybe they’ll work with a Windows version of PSE2.
