I was told there’s something I could do to have my brushes act like brushes and the airbrush separate like in 5.5
is this true?
I just hate the sensitivity of the CS brushes!
there is none…I colour comicbooks in a Frazetta like way and all the painterly quality has disappeared in CS : (

Are you using a graphic tablet, like a Wacom?
Have you played with the numerous settings of the brushes palette?

Could you show a stroke that you did in 5.5 and the same in CS, showing what can’t be replicated?

The Brush engine has been changed several versions ago to allow way more customization.

Hi PE!
Yup I’m on a Wacom
I’ve been a pro colourist for 7 years now trained by
the colourist of Curse of Spawn..so I’m not new to
this.
played with the settings for a year!
the CS feels completely different
they feel like markers…there’s no finesse
I had other colourist were complaining…
It may customize shape but the airbrush should be separate from the ‘brush’ Oy…it’s a mess for me 🙁
I have to boot in 10.2 to work in 9 OS to use 5.5
CS rocks for layout and internet work but has lost that
special arty ability…or it’s just misplaced?
I need advanced help : O

I really think you need to revisit the brush settings. I’ve been using PS as an illustration tool since version 2.5, and the brushes now are much more versatile and customizable than before.

I was able to illustrate two books last year in a technique emulating watercolor. While PS’s brushes aren’t quite as painterly-looking as Painter’s, the interface is, for me, faster and more comfortable.

Oh I love your Aliens!
I think Comic book art is still a bit different in the rendering… So I’m still open to any plug-in ..etc
