I am running CS2 version 9.0 on Windows XP Home, and most of my filter options have been grayed out.

I cannot use any of the Artistic, Brush Strokes, Pixelate, Sketch, or Texture filters, and almost half of the rest have been grayed out as well.

I have used Photoshop’s repair option in Add/Remove Programs, but it did not help.

I have recently installed Cinema 4D, and it seems that the filters have been grated out since then.

If anyone can shed some light on this issue, I would be much obliged!

Are your images 8bit RGB or Grayscale?

Wow. It looks like I’ve been using 16-bit output from C4D. I hadn’t realized that my filters wouldn’t work at those levels. Thanks for the tip!

Some filters function with 16-bit, others don’t. I never use 16-bit images so I’m just passing along what I read here.
