Levels, Curves dialog boxes all black..CAN'T SEE... HELP!!!

Photoshop 5.5, WIN98 SE, AMD Athlon 600, 320 M RAM:
When I open the Curves dialog box (Ctrl-M), the dialog box opens but the color of the grid is black and the lines are black!!! I can't see a thing!!! How do I fix this??
