A few times when working with drop shadows I have found that it would be extremely handy if the drop shadow could be separated from the layer it is attached to. For instance, I want to show an isometric type exploded view of the floor plans of our offices. The top floor plan will cast a shadow on the floor below but unless it is modified there is shadow on thin air. In order to cut out the parts of the shadow that are not cast on the floor below I have to do a very complicated procedure (or create a shadow of that floor myself on a seperate layer); does anybody know what I’m on about?
In other words I want to be able to erase some of the drop shadow.
(I’m using PS6 but I do have PS7, just haven’t got around to using it yet)
