Larry,

Elements 2 has a selection brush that can be set to mask mode (this allows you to paint rubylith mask). Selections can also be saved.

The add ons that Jodi mentions give a more traditonal Photoshop QuickMask, but you may not find them necessary, if you try the selection brush.

Thanks all
Downloaded the add on and that seems to be the ticket, also the selection brush just adds to my arsenal. Thanks

Al,

I use Hidden Power. Had some trouble with the shipley stuff myself. Find it here:

This stuff shows in the How-To palette and has an automated installer.

Al,

I can’t help with 3rd party products. Don’t use em myself.

Bob,

Selection brush is the third down on the left side of the toolbar. It lets you paint a marching ants selection by default, and if you switch to mask mode in the options bar, it lets you paint a rubylith mask.

Al,

If you have a Mac, the Shipley Extra Tools <http://member.melbpc.org.au/~pshipley/Download.htm> should be located here <http://home.earthlink.net/~imacgirl/extratoolslocation.jpg>. I’m not sure if the location is the same for Windows.

Did you look in Effects? This is where the Extra Tools will be.

Many of us had a really tough time getting these installed. Once you do, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without the Curves. This is one thing that Elements 2 is missing, and in my opinion is a must for any photo editing.
