For example the image I have is a bear leaning against a tree on a background of grass. In Photoshop, I tried "lasso" to extract the outline of the bear but couldn’t get it exactly right , esp. on the fur (even with a pen tablet). I used "color" but it only helped with the bear against the grass but not the bear against the tree (they are of similar color)
I have seen background masks for furry animals which are excellent, with a "transparency" value (between 0 and 1) on the fur. I was told it was done in Photoshop but apparently there’s something I am missing.
Any suggestions /or experience with masking?
thanks!
