Very Weird Color Issue: My grays are showing up as red in CS...

On any new picture I open or any new image I create the grays are showing up w/ a reddish tint to them. I cannot seem to get it corrected. When I save the file, the color is correct again. This is driving me crazy!!

System Details:
Photoshop CS
3.2 GHz Pentium 4
1 GB of RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 XT w/ 256MB of RAM
NEC Multisync FP2141SB Monitor

Any suggestions?

That sounds like a video driver issue. Try turning hardware acceleration down to zero and see if that clears it up. If so, you need an updated driver.

That did not change anything. I have the newest drivers from ATI. It only does it in Photoshop, nothing else...

I have tried 3 different drivers and nothing has changed it...

Try trashing your prefs. Details in the FAQs.

Still didn't work. I currently have the "North American General Purpose Defaults" selected.

Man this sucks!

Figured it out!! I reset the Adobe Gamma and now everything is functioning properly. Thanks for all your help Bob!

I was going to suggest that but the fact that it went back to normal led me away from that.

Me too, but figured everything was worth trying at this stage. Weirder things have happened. :)

Can you please tell me how you did this since I have the same issue. All my images are showing up with a reddish tint in CS but look normal when saving.

Run Adobe Gamma from the Windows Control Panel. Have XP? then switch the CP to Classic View. Rob

Um... I don't have Adobe Gamma in my CP. I am looking at classic view. I also looked in Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop CS/ and the only exe's I have are ImageReady and Photoshop. I did have both 7.0 and CS on the computer (XP) after the upgrade to CS, but I've since removed 7.0. Is this where Gamma went?

Thanks for the info Rob, I re-installed CS and got my CP applet back (must have gotten removed with the de-install of 7). I ran the Gamma now everythings back to normal.
