Using PS7.01 on WinXP with 512 MB RAM

When accessing any of the "shapen" filters I no longer receive a dialog box to preview possible changes and the filtering effect does not seem to do anything! Also on the "extract" filter, I am able to highlight an area but the "OK" and "Preview" buttons are greyed out, leaving only the "Cancel" button. Is there a fix? Or do I need to uninstall and reinstall PS 7.0 and then 7.01 update?

PS I haven’t changed anything on the computer!

Thanks for your replies. I trashed prefs but am still experiencing the exact same challenges. Other suggestions?

The dialog box for the extract filter appears – but OK and Preview – remain greyed out. Still no dialog box for sharpen filters.

Thanks for any other suggestions you might have.
