getting silhouettes from pics

Hello,

I’m want to extract just the outlines / silhouettes from the pictures.

I’m sure it’s very simple for s.o who knows Photoshop , maybe a simple filter can do it but I know none of both.

It can be simple or very complicated depending on the image. It’s basically the same thing as eliminating a background; you have to make a very precise selection of the object. That’s the hard part.

Thank you for your answer,

to take an example close to what I’m looking for, it’s in the video clip "Take Me Out" from Franz Ferdinand. The clip itself is ultra-creative, but I just want to refer to the frames where the camera looks down to the Rickenbaker bass. If you pay attention, the scene shifts from plain images to outlined black & white scene. That’s what kind of thing I’m looking for.

Once outlined in b&w it’d be easy to vectorise. But that will be another question….:-)
