Best Photo Size for Digital Prints

I have a bunch of pics that I want to have digital 4 x 6 prints at Target. What size should the pics be for the best output? I am using Photoshop CS.

Appreciate the help.

Ask whoever is doing the printing what they recommend.

Wal-Mart uses a Frontier (370) which is optimized for 300 pixels per inch. So a 4×6 would be 1200×1800 pixels. That doesn’t mean that you can’t use a smaller file though. For the 20 cents they chanrge it’s no big deal to run a test. If you need to size your images proportional to 4×6 so they don’t get cropped, read the information I have on this page:
