Change Color of Cursor?

Is there some way of changing the color or tone of the cursor in Photoshop (7.0). When you are working on a part of an image that is white/light or black/dark the cursor visible, but neutral gray areas of an image and it disappears.

More information, please. What kind of computer are you using?

If you are using a Mac, you can use the optional "Direct Cursors" plugin, which will do what you want.

If you're on a Windows computer, you're out of luck--sorry.

If you're using Windows you can't change the cursor color, but chaging the cursor style from Precise to Standard will make it more visible.

Frank this might work for you. It is a work around. If you hold down the control key you will get the move tool with a black arrow. If you point to a part of your image with the arrow tip and let go, your cursor will be at that point. There are several other techniques for locating the cursor, one more being to hit the space bar and you will get a hand. Just move the hand to the area you want and let go of the space bar. One more that I have found, is after you select the tool, click the mouse once on the title bar, then click the Alt key on the keyboard, the cursor becomes an arrow. Move that to where you want to be in the image and click the mouse button. This doesn't do what you want but I use these techniques to locate the cursor. I use the Control key one most.

Yes you can by selecting mouse in the control panel, click on the pointers tab and select something from the drop down list.

What are you blabbering about? Under Windows, what one
selects in control panel has zero effect on PS's precise and standard cursors when doing selections.

Good info. I would add that you can also press the space bar to bring up the hand cursor momentarily.
