When using the square brush the lower right hand corner is smoothed(rounded). Why is this and what is the fix?

You must have inadvertantly picked a different brush. Are you in PS version 6? If so, then go to the brushes pallet in the options bar (after choosing a brush tool – clone, paint, etc) and pick a standard square brush.

On your top tool bar / windows/ brushes / brush tip shape. next to {use sample size} there is a circle with an arrow there you can change the brush.
