CS3 & CS4 added to CS6 upgrade path

It seems Adobe has relented a bit and added CS3 & CS4 to the upgrade path to CS6.

Now, this is bull-shit
years ago i went broke buying a new car every year
no more got it paid for , and bought another
finally stopped, and the money rolled in
Adobe is doing the same thing
Buy the latest photoshop, get it paid for
and right away there is another, bigger and better
I have PS CS5 and will continue to use it. To hell with the Upgrades. after all , PS is my hobby

I am also a hobbyist, and I only upgrade if there is a compelling reason to upgrade, not just to say I am using the latest version. The policy they reversed was truly bull-shit. I believe that was a failed attempt to raise revenue by threatening their faithful customer base who had become comfortable with the old upgrade path. I also have a feeling that CS6 is not going to be be a great improvement over CS5 an most CS5 users would not be compelled to upgrade.
This turn about is a return to the practice used by most who use an upgrade path when they need it, or when the older editions of ACR do not support the latest RAW variants with new camera releases.

I use CS5 and I am quite happy with it. However I upgraded from CS2 to CS4 because CS2 ACR did not support the RAW format in my new cameras. I upgraded from CS4 to CS5 because the new features, including the new versions of ACR engine and Bridge, were a major leap from CS4.

Over the years, for various reasons I have upgraded from PS7 to CS to CS2 to CS4 to CS4 and have been happy each time.

That said I am happy to stick with CS5 and have no intention to upgrade to CS6.

I first bought PS 6, and had it on two computers.

Later I needed a third computer with PS on it, so I bought PS CS2 and loaded it on the new computer and on eold one.

Finally I got a fourth computer that is 64 bit, so I bought PS CS5 and loaded it (64 bit) on the new one and the old one with PS6 (32 bit).

CS5 is a big step up from CS2. I am a big fan of Highlight/Shadow, and that is much improved. A sort of poor man's Highlight/Shadow is in Adobe Camera Raw, and sometimes it is adequate. The automatic lateral CA correction in ACR CS5 works quite well. Finally, the panorama thingie in CS2 was a joke, while the one in CS5 works nicely.
