When I modify a jpeg and save it as Save for web and devices, the next time I open the same document, it gives an extra (15-17) saturation to it.I can’t figure out why. I watched Lynda’s Photoshop videos and probably we saved something there, but I don’t know what. How can I fix that?

Are you saving the file under a new name or overwriting the original?

When you’re saving for web you are most likely stripping out the profile and converting to sRGB, then when you reopen it as an untagged RGB in your Adobe RGB working space, the sRGB numbers will look more saturated when viewed as if they were in Adobe RGB. Assign sRGB to the image and it will look correct again.
