Hi there

I scanned some pictures into photoshop 5.
If I compare the picture on screen with the originals, the scanned picture is very dark.
does anyone know how I can get this right

Thanx

First make sure your monitor is actually color adjusted so that you see what you actually scanned.

Without doing that as a first step, your assessment of your monitor's display of the image is meaningless.

Once you are sure your monitor is correct, then you'll need to color adjust the image. Most scanned images need some tweaking.

BUT since you say you're using PS5, I'm also going to guess that you are using a relatively cheap scanner. So as a caution, when it comes to scanning images, you cannot expect perfections from a $49 device.

JC - why do you think that people who use Photoshop 5 are likely to have a cheap scanner other than the fact that you are, indeed, a rude little shit? "J C" wrote in message

Well, let's see ...

Because PS5 is old, not sold anymore, and not a program that a pro would be using. [And note here that I did stay away from stating the possibility that the prog was warez.]

Considering all this I'd say that the cheap scanner is not that much of a leap in logic. If the person hasn't upgraded the program, what do you think the odds are that they have a high quality, expensive scanner?

And I'd disagree that my conjecture should cause anyone to use vulgar language.

Lastly, I'd point out that your above response is simply Usenet trash talk. Explain how your comment helps answer the poster's question?
