Lost Lighting Effects Flashlight Style

In PSCS3, under Filter>Render>Lighting Effects, I deleted "Flshlight", one of 17 "Style" options. I can't find a way to restore it, so now I have only 16 Style options. Surely, the Flashlight option wouldn't be permanently lost--or would it?

If it's missing from the UI, then the file is probably missing from the plugins folder (beside Lighting Effects).

Reinstalling, or copying that file from another install are your options.

Thank you, Chris. The Flashlight style is missing from my plug-ins folder while all sixteen others are present. I'll try to comeby a friend's version and copy it to a flash drive for re-copying to my plug-ins folder.

A friend E-mailed Flashlight (68 bytes) as an attachment and I received it with a .DAT extension. Copied it to plug-ins and it was restored there with the DAT extension, sticking out like a sore thumb from all the others which have no extension. Worked OK. I then removed the DAT extension and it still worked. Why the DAT extension?

probably because the email program wanted an extension :-)

The sender's ISP is AOL. Perhaps AOL adds the extension, for whatever reason.

I am new to Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. In photo effects of edit mode, I clicked on "delete effect permanently" on color fade center thinking that I was deleting effect on that photo only. I'm afraid that I've deleted theeffect permanently for future editing. Can I recover this effect?

Janae - you're in the wrong forum, and posting to a topic unrelated to your question. You need to find the Photoshop Elements forum (which is not the same as the Photoshop forum).

HI

All Of my Lighting Effects Styles have disapeared, I am using photoshop cs2. I have checked the folder Plug-Ins Filters and the folder Lighting Styles is in there with all 17 of the different styles. yet when I load photoshop and go to filter render lighting effects in the window that pops up the styles tab [I think that's what you call it] has a drop down list which is fully blank nothing there at all. I tried changing the advanced properties of the lighting styles folder from index this folder for faster searching and tried it without the checkmark. this did not help and i have since discovered that was for windows XP were as I am using windows Vista. Please can anyone give me some advise on how to correct this problem.
Thankyou
Mark

Click on start and type in a name style in search then look to see if it brings anything up on your hard drive.
