Don't know why, but this feature seems to be completely broken, at least on my machine. Try this. Create a new document, any size (I'm working very small right now, 40x40px, so it's not a memory issue), create a new layer group, and create a couple layers within it, paint a scribble in them, give them some layer effects, doesn't matter what. Now try right-click and select Duplicate Group. I've done this about 6 times, with a reboot after the first 3 so I know I'm not getting residual memory leaks or anything, and every single time, in freezes the program such that I have to go to the Task Manager and End Process. This shouldn't be that complicated to do, especially since I'm dealing with such a small file. No other software is running that's particularly memory-intensive. The machine has 2 GB of ram, which should be more than enough for this. Running WinXP, Athalon 2.8GHz, plenty of space left on all my hard drives. Can't think what else could cause this. I can duplicate the layers individually no problem, and then create a new group and move the duplicates into it, but trying to duplicate the whole group at once crashes no matter what. Any ideas?
