Photoshop crashes when I try to select something with the Wand Tool

I have never had this problem before. When I select some areas of the drawing I have made with my tablet, the message "could not complete your request because of a program error" comes up and then the program shuts off.

I'm not sure at all what is going on, since it doesn't have to do with the settings of the wand (or does it? The error window doesn't really say much).

Underneath I have posted a link to a youtube video that I have made filming from beginning to end of what happens when I do it.

Help is appreciated.

Mmh, well, I'd say that somehow the pixel selection seems to be ambiguous due to the proximity of the lines. Maybe some stray semi-transparent pixels that get in the way. Does the behavior change when using different tolerance settings? Does the paint bucket work on this area?

I experimented with the tolerance settings. At 0 it still didn't work and had no noticeable improvements present. At 100 however the foam area of the water I kept trying to select went past the area and selected the entire area. However, I tried selecting some other areas around the image with the new 100 tolerance wand, and the same problem happened on another part of the drawing, with the same message and crash.

I tried using the paint bucket tool as well, but the same error window came up. I'm not sure what can be the problem. Could it just be a bug? Should I reinstall Photoshop?
