Getting rid of blur from photos

Anyone know a good way to get rid of the blur from photos? Ive tried the sharpen/unsharpen masks, they dont do anything..
Any advice is apreciated

Well the unsharp mask usually does the trick
Take a copy of the layer, add the unsharpen filter en then use a layer mask determine with the black and white paint on the layer where the sharpness should be visible.

If your picture is blurred in the original then you can't guarantee to have a perfect image.

Unsharp Mask is usually the best way. If you want to try another method, first, create a duplicate layer. Then, click on Filter > Other > High Pass. The radius setting of 9.0 pixels works for me. Set the blending mode for the layer to Soft Light. Experiment with other radius settings and blend modes. I've been scanning some poor quality slides and most are out of focus. The above method makes them look sharper.

Hey that's pretty cool. I had heard of another specialist program for this purpose, this is amazingly easy though.
