White Looks Like Cream In Photoshop???

Hey Guys,

I recently purchased a new monitor, and ive looked for a solution to this question in its book etc, but i had no joy. Basically upon opening an image, or even selecting the a colour from the colour swatch in photoshop, the colour doesnt seem to look right.

The most obvious is the colour white. In photoshop, upon selecting white, the chosen colour actually looks a lot more like a creamy colour.

Can anybody offer any advice on this please? Am i doing something wrong? is my monitor buggered? I have done some calibration in adobe gamma but that hasnt really helped.

One thing to note, upon opening photoshop after installing my new monitor, i had some sort of message come up, and i didnt read the entire message before i had closed it (duh) but it said something about colour profile error or mis-match - im not 100% sure of what the error was but i know it was definately about colour and it referenced the fact a new monitor had been installed.

can anybody help? thanks so much
Andy

Your monitor profile is bad.

You need to remake it.

Its recommended you use a hardware calibrator if you have an LCD.

Hi Guys,

Thank you both for your replys. With your help, i have managed to crack the problem, and the colours are now displaying perfectly.

Thanks so much for taking the time to get back to me. I really appreciate it.
