Stroke Path Question

PS CS 2 , Win XP

I turned the outlines of some letters in to a working path.When I apply "stroke path" to them with a certain brush the result appears mainly on the lower side of the letters, some areas don´t show any effect.
I suppose the cause of it among the brush options palette. Can anybody help me?

Are all the Paths active? Select them all in the Paths palette or with the Path Selection tool (arrow).
