go into
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
Look for the updater folder, make sure it's not "updater5"
If it is, take the 5 off the folder name and it'll work after that

Unfortunatly that didn't work. Updater still fails to start.

You can bypass the Adobe Updater by getting updates from the Adobe site. (If you know what you are looking for it helps.)

Taking the "5" off of the Updater folder worked for me.
