Hi All,

This evening I switched on and tried to load PS2.
The following pop-up appeared.
‘An error has been detected with a required application library and the product cannot continue. Please re install the application.’

I’ve deleted CS2 and re installed but with no success, just the same error.

Any ideas?

Regards

John

Might try resetting preferences with Ctrl Alt Shift when you start PS2. If successful will get reset window. Delete/Install does not affect any errors that would be in preferences file.

Hi Curt,
Thanks for the reply.
I’ve tried that and no change.
Re-installed again with odd errors.

Adobe cannot start model subsystem returned this error 1.’

I think you are in the right direction as I’ve had the following on latest attempt.

Could not load default contours because the file could not be found’

I’ve been using CS2 every day since it came out, with not a single problem.
Don’t know what to try next.

Thanks for you advice.

Is this a new program that you purchased? If so did you buy from Adobe or 3rd party? There are a lot of phony copies around that do not install property. You can call Adobe and see if the s/n is legit.

Hi Curt,

I bought the programme brand new from Amazon at a cost of £463 about $900. This was in 2005 when we first had it in the UK. Have run since
with no problems.

I’ve just tried Image Ready, this is working fine from the same install.

Just a thought, how can you reset the preferences if you have not created any.

I’ve just registered the copy again with Adobe and been promised a free gift. Pity I can’t use the Garamond fonts.

To reset preferences hold down the CTRL ALT Shift keys when starting program. Have to be quick. Once successful you will get a reset window with several options.

Hi Curt,
Tried that again. First time I’ve managed to reset preferences. Programme loads up and then same error, regarding an application library not found.

Tried again and had a folder tree asking what plug-ins I required.

I’ll have another re-install to pass the time away!

Thanks again for your help.

What third-party plug-ins do you have installed?

Hi John,

Can’t remember, but will check.

I’ve un-installed CS2 again as had another error. [Adobe help cannot start, model subsystem returned the error 1146.]

I’ve installed PS7, no problem other than looking a little ancient!

Thanks for advice.

Hi John and Curt,

I’ve no plug-ins at the moment although I did use Harry’s filters a couple of years ago.

I’m back to the [model subsystem returned the error 1146]

Thanks for your suggestions.

Regards

John
