Is there a Keyboard Shortcut for Auto Select Layer or a way to set one?

While using your Move Tool, you should be able to temporarily invoke or disable the "Auto Select Layer" behavior by pressing and holding the CTRL key while clicking in your document window.

I’m having trouble imagining what a keyboard shortcut for Auto Select Layer would do.

It would auto-select the corresponding layer to the image element you’re clicking on. Yes, that would avoid the need to turn that option on/off. That’s a nice idea 🙂
