There used to be a very useful function in CS2 under Help which was Export Transparent Image. What happened to that function in CS3 and how the hell do I export transparent image now in CS3?

Please help, this is quite urgent.

Hi Dave, I am afriad the save for web and devices option is not the same as the CS2 Export Transparent Image. Any more suggestions?

What is the intended use of the graphic?

Learn to make and Save transparent files correctly. It's not very difficult. The Wizards are being retired.

What exactly are you trying to do? Web? Print?

Of course you have to create the transparent areas in your image and save in a format that supports transparency (ie GIF or PNG).

For the web, John. For print TIF, PSD or PDF.

Thanks for all your help. It's not for the web so I need higher resolution, but I found that if I save a selection then save as PSD the unselected part automatically becomes transparent. I think it is something to do with alpha channel.

Sorry, I just assumed web. Probably running on from Dave's post.

Anthony you might be getting what you want but it's better if you understand what you're doing so when it goes wrong you know how to fix it!
