How To: Find Installed Serial Number, PS CS3

378 views12 repliesLast post: 12/20/2007
Prior versions of PS (CS, CS2) displayed the installed serial number in Help About. CS3 does not do this! I have recently installed several CS3 updates and did not correlate serial numbers with machines thinking I could do so later using Help About. How do I find the serial number of the PS CS3 installations?
Thanks!

iirc, that doesn't give the full #... leaves off the last 4 digits i think.

Should be enough to find out which copy is installed on which machine, though. --

That did the trick, guys. Thanks! And, yes, the last four digits of the s/n are not presented. Why is that? With activation required, I don't see why there should be a reason not to present the full s/n.

well its so someone can't walk up to your computer and copy your serial number and pirate it.

OK, I see that now. I wasn't considering crooks. Even with the activation requirement, I guess there would be a conflict if multiple attempts to activate with the same s/n occur. How would one prove to the support tech they are the rightful owner of a given s/n? Anyone could say they have the CD s/n label in front of them.

System_Administrator,

Would you kindly turn off the autoquote in your newsreader? These forums are primarily accessed through the web and the autoquotes are not only unnecessary but they tend to clog up the screen real estate.

Feel free to quote relevant portions of prior posts.

Thanks,

Bob
