Clone stamp tool size indicator not visible

I'm using Photoshop CS2. Every so often, and all of a sudden, the size indicator (the circle around the mouse cursor) stops displaying when I use the clone tool - all I get is a cross-hair. Then just as mysteriously and suddenly, the size indicator reappears again, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours. Quitting Photoshop and going back in doesn't fix it - it just seems to fix itself completely randomly. Any idea what might be going on?

Sorry, I have no idea, but the same thing happens to me.

Yes you're right, it's the caps lock key - but I don't understand why Adobe thinks this behaviour is useful! But someone gave me a good tip offline: in Control Panel, Accessibility Options, switch on "Toggle Keys". You then get an audible beep if you accidentally switch your caps lock on. Hope that helps Mister Max and anyone else who has this problem.

The caps lock key is a pain in the arse! There is no need for it on a PC keyboard, it is a carry over from typewriters.
To disable it;
Click Start->Run and the type regedit and then press enter Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout Add a new string value and name it: Scancode Map
Add the following data to the Scancode Map:
00000000 00000000 02000000 00003A00 00000000
You have to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. To re-enable the caps lock key just remove the Scancode Map and give your computer a reboot.

All that?!!!! You don't think you will remember to check the caps lock key in the future? Besides....it does come in handy about once a year.

As far as working with the registry goes this little addition is nothing. (30 seconds tops to reboot)I can't think of any annual use I would need it for.
Each to his own.
