Hi Guys, have recently purchased CS3 and i am having problems creating smooth gradients. It seems that no matter what i try, i cannot get a gradient with smooth transitions between the various shades. I assume that this is something simple that i am not doing, but this one has me stumped. some of the methods i have tried to acheive a smooth gradient are as follows:

Adjusted monitor settings
Used 8bit,16bit and 32bit colour modes in CS3
Adjusted all colour settings in CS3
Tried assigning different profiles in CS3

Running on:
Win Xp SP2
Athlon Dual Core Processor
Radeon X300 PCI Express Graphics
1Gb Corsair Ram

Can anyone help!???
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, i did look in the forums for a solution to this problem but it must have sliped me by. The solution was to close PSCS3 and adjust the properties of my monitor. I had the colour quality set to 16bit, i changed it to 32bit and re started PSCS3 – problem solved – no more banded gradients!

Many thanks to Andrew Holohan for sorting this one out.

found the solution in Topic : CS3 vs. CS2 image display issues.

Thanks again.
