I assume you are using Adobe Elements and I am not sure what you want to do; prevent new files from being added or view only the files in a selected folder while in the "Folder View" option in the organizer. I use Elements 5. I don’t know anything about previous versions. Also, I haven’t used Elements 5 for that long so consider that . There are two changes you can make to what you view in the organizer … add/remove a folder from the watched folder list and view only the folders you select when using the folder view option.
You can remove a folder from the watched folder list by right-clicking on the selected folder in the folder view option. Select "remove from watched folder list". This will prevent any new image files placed in that folder from being added to your organizer.
You can also change how folders are viewed in the <preferences> setup function.
Click on edit-preferences. Select "Folder Location View" and select "Only Files in Selected Folder".
Maybe someone has a better answer.
