How to start image processor from other application?

I’d like to start the image processor script with a list of pictures from another application like you can do from Bridge. I could provide the list of filenames in a text file. Is this possible? I thought about modifying the image processor script, but not being used to Java, it would take a lot of time, so if anyone has a solution ready or easily adaptable …
