hi all,
I've made many actions for use in CS2, but have added CS3 to my list programs. Can I transfer the Actions from CS2 to CS3? If yes, how?

Hi Phillip,
All you need to do is to copy them from the CS2 actions folder, which is usually at this location on a standard install.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Photoshop Actions
To the CS3 actions folder, which is usually at this location on a standard install.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Actions
Alternatively, you can place a shortcut to your CS2 actions folder in your CS3 actions folder.
Most actions will work OK, but it is possible that some may not be compatible between the two versions.
Hope this helps.

Or you can create a folder to put them in My Documents\Adobe\Actions or anywhere else on your disk drives. No need for them to be in the Presets\Photoshop Actions folder. You will need to load the action sets in any case, so just navigate to where they are. You can use either the same folder or separate folders for CS2 and CS3 actions; just bear in mind that there are some changes in actions between the two, so you might be better off with separate folders for the two.

Don't forget, you have to explicitly save them in CS2 first. Otherwise, uninstalling will cause them to be lost forever.

....and you have to save them in Sets: individual actions will not save!

I suggest taking the contents of the CS2 photoshop actions folder and transfer it to the CS3 actions folder. That's how I do transfer my actions at web design company <
http://www.webdesigningcompany.net> while upgrading to CS 3.. Please let me know if you need the path to these locations.
Cheers,
