I am using Windows XP and when I open a file any formt, say .jpg for example.I make a few changes, click save, get a prompt "save changes to this document?". I click yes and get another box that defaults save in PSD format.
Since I opened a jpg file I now have to change it to save as jpg. I then click save and then have new dialog saying file already exists, and do I want to replace it? Then I click OK.
I have searched all the help files indicates that Photoshop"Save" command is supposed to save a file in the same format as when it was opened. That was the case for all prior versions of Photoshop that I have used. When I upgraded to CS3 I did not have this problem, one day it just started. I have deleted the Preferencs file. but no help.
What is going on?
I have 4 gig of ram, fast processor dual core
Any help will be appreciated.
