I have installed my new CS3 Web Design Professional suite on three computers now. At first I actually thought I needed an upgrade and bought a new computer. I can’t pinpoint if there is anything in particular that causes this error message and subsequent shutdown of Photoshop–a window pops up says "Photoshop has stopped working and will shutdown". It flashes rather quickly and I don’t have a chance to do anything, Photoshop just disappears. Of course, I always lose the work. And it generally happens after working on several files for a while. Once it happens though, it will tend to shutdown more often until I reboot my system.

Anyway, this has been an issue on three of my computers, two of which are brand new! Has anyone else had this seemingly generic problem with Photoshop CS3? I don’t think it’s necessarily related to Vista because the first computer I installed it on (with same crash message) was Windows XP Pro. All computers have 2G ram.

I NEED ADVICE!!!!!

Currently I’m running:

Intel Core2 Due CPU,
2046 RAM
Vista Business
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS

System architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:15, Stepping:10 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2 Physical processor count: 2

Built-in memory: 2046 MB
Free memory: 1002 MB
Memory available to Photoshop: 1660 MB
Memory used by Photoshop: 55 %
Image cache levels: 6
Application folder: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\ Temporary file path: C:\Users\Marita\AppData\Local\Temp\3

Marita,

You can only have two installations activated at any one time under one license. Are you de-activating one in order to activate another one?

I’ve got the same error. I have installed vista premium and photoshop cs2 is nowadays giving error. Not photoshop itself, but explorer. It says "Photoshop CS2 has stopped working. windows is looking for a solution for this…"
I uninstalled and reinstalled, the problem still doesn’t go away. I never installed cs3 on my computer. For 1 months, I had been using CS2 without any problem. But 2 days ago, I got the error message. What do you advice?

Dell 6400 core2 duo, 80 gb hdd, 128 mb intel int.
Thanks, Mustafa Sazak
